Lessons to Learn from Lock-down
an exercise to practice self-care, gratitude, and compassion
Like most people across the globe right now I am really feeling the strain of lock-down. Not being able to make plans with my family and friends or book trips has made it feel like all I do is work. In fact, funding travel is one of the main reasons I work as hard as I do so, when that is taken away, I really start to question why I bother! ●﹏●
All that being said , I am really lucky that I am able to work from home at all. I am truly grateful for that. While this is undoubtedly a terrible situation for many, at times like this I really believe it is important to practice gratitude and be thankful for the small things. So, I decided to make a list of all of the things I enjoy and appreciate about lock-down!

I found this to be a really helpful exercise. Now, whenever I am feeling a little down or sorry for myself I look over this list and I am immediately back to a place of gratitude. I also found that this exercise allowed me to identify some habits and small changes I would like to continue to implement when things are back to normal!
One thing we can be sure of is that this won't last forever. I am sure there will be elements of it we may miss when it is over. Lets try our best to live in the moment and enjoy the little things. (◠‿◠✿)

Just like Japan, this site is a haven of contrasts; kawaii & otaku, travel tips and wanderlust, and mindfulness & self-improvement. So, stay a while and tanoshi! 楽しい
