Level 10 Life
with free downloadable template
I write to do lists for work, home, chores, even lists of cafe's I want to visit or movies I would like to see. I find it is a really useful process, the act of writing down a task frees you from needing to remember it and this creates space in your mind to relax and focus on what is most important.
I try to be mindful in my list writing - nobody wants to get in to the situation where they spend more time writing lists than ticking things off!
(-‸ლ)
For this reason, I am really keen on any system which breaks large aspirations down in to small, actionable tasks. This way you can monitor progress towards your goal, one step at a time, reflect on your achievements and not lose focus , or worse, motivation.
The day zero project is one of my favourite goal tracking methods because it really puts the emphasis on the big picture rather than quick results. I have made, and successfully stuck to, a number of day zero lists and will share these in future posts ◠‿◠ but , more recently, I have been really in to the 'level 10 life' method which I feel integrates really well with day zero goals.
If you haven't heard of level 10 life before, it is essentially a method where you break down each area of your life in to ten categories and give yourself a score out of 10 in each. This allows you to identify areas in your life you feel fulfilled and which areas you would like to improve. You can then divert your energy in a mindful way to target areas you wish to improve. Woohoo! ヽ(゜∇゜)ノ

Suggested Level 10 Categories:
- Family & Friends
- Personal Development
- Spirituality
- Finances
- Career/Business
- Marriage/Love
- Fun & Recreation
- Giving/Charity
- Physical Environment
- Health & Fitness
These are the categories that tend to be in the majority of level 10 lists I have seen but, I would recommend modifying these so that they best reflect you and your life. I have added Travel to mine as this plays a huge part in my image of an 'ideal' life. Equally, spirituality is so closely linked to my personal development and health that it made sense to merge these. Here are the results of my most recent level 10 assessment.
As you can see, my two main areas for improvement are giving and health. I have spent the last few years focusing on my career and finances sometimes, I am sorry to say, at the expense of my health. Now that I am in a good place with these categories it is easy to see where shifting focus will have the greatest overall impact ≖‿≖
